The Mitsubishi Type 89 IFV (三菱89式装甲戦闘車, Mitsubishi 89-shiki sōkō-sentō-sha)(89 FV ) is a Japanese infantry fighting vehicle that entered service with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in 1989.They make brief appearances in Godzilla vs. Mothra, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla: Tokyo SOS.

The Type 89 comes with two 2 × Type 79 Jyu-MAT missiles.

The Type 89 comes with a Type 74 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun in the turret.

Carrying capacity

Type 89s can carry seven soldiers in the vehicle although this is never shown.

Type 89s can reach 70 km/h.

• Most footage of the Type 89 is reused in different movies.
• The Type 89s Hull was later used to make the Type 99 155 mm self-propelled howitzer which can be seen with Type 10 Tank in 2016's Shin Godzilla.
