History
Heisei Series
Godzilla vs. Biollante
Godzilla had successfully defeated Biollante's rose form, and was now advancing towards the Japanese mainland yet again. The DD-122s, along with a Haruna-class Destroyer, were the first to confront him. Raining an onslaught of weaponry at the kaiju, the DD-122s and the Haruna were unsuccessful, as Godzilla destroyed the ships with his atomic breath.
Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla
The DD-122s were utilized once more when Godzilla appeared near the coast of Kagoshima as he traveled across Japan to free his son, Little Godzilla, from being held by his captor. The ships suffered the same fate as before, and were blown to bits.
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah
A DD-122 was sent to the Bering Sea to follow Godzilla near the coast of Okinawa while G-Force constructed a plan to deal with his impending meltdown.
Trivia
- A similar warship, simply called the Hatsuyuki, appears in the Millenium series. It is slightly longer and more modern compared to the DD-122.
- During filming, the top of one of the DD-122's guns was frequently blown off by the pyrotechnics within.
