The F-86F Sabre is a transonic jet fighter aircraft originally produced by North American Aviation. The F-86F was licensed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, who produced it for the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force in the 1950's. Due to its popularity and frequent use by the J.A.S.D.F., the F-86F Sabre was featured in numerous Template:Kaiju Template:FilmCs produced by Toho in the Showa series, making its debut in the 1954 film Godzilla.
History

Godzilla (1954)
After laying waste to Tokyo, Godzilla waded back into Tokyo Bay, where several F-86F Sabres were mobilized to fight him. The jets opened fire on Godzilla with their payload of rockets, which only served to annoy the monster, who eventually disappeared under the waves. With no means to continue fighting Godzilla, the J.S.D.F. were forced to end their counterattack.
