Rokmutul is an unused six-legged kaiju from the 2014 Legendary Pictures Godzilla film, Godzilla.
Design
Rokmutul resembles an Ankylosaurus or Anguirus, due to the spikes running down its back and its armored appearance. It has a streamlined crocodilian body, and spikes on its tail most closely resembling those of a Stegosaurus. It also has six legs, granting it a similarity with the strange, dead monster from the 2012 San Diego Comic Con trailer for Godzilla, though this may be purely coincidental.
Development
Rokmutul concept art was submitted by both Josh Nizzi and Frank Hong early into the development of Godzilla.[1][2] Based on this concept art it appears that Rokmutul would've fought Godzilla in San Francisco, with one encounter showing them fighting in the heart of the city and the other atop Alcatraz. Its relation to the other unused monster designed by Josh Nizzi, Pterodactyl, is unknown. Both of these monsters were scrapped, while Godzilla's opponents in the finished film ended up being the MUTOs.
