I’ve seen Elfen Lied when it was 2011, when I was allowed to watch gory anime. I came across Elfen Lied when I was watching a episode of Kong: The Animated Series. When I watched it I enjoyed it I even read the manga. However I meet a lot of anime goers and most of them didn’t even know what Elfen Lied was, so that’s why I was surprised about anyone knowing about Elfen Lied
Interesting. I didn’t know what Elfen Lied was until I watched Death Battle (Lucy fought Carnage from Marvel), which was about last summer. I don’t know why, but Elfen Lied, despite its mature and dark themes, is one of my favorite TV shows and anime of all time (along with Fist of the North Star and Samurai Jack), and Lucy is one of my all-time favorite characters. BTW, Dark Horse Comics is releasing the Manga in North America in 4 omnibus volumes starting this year (Vol. 1 ships May 22 for comic shops, June 4 for bookstores). Addendum: I read the Manga last month. While more mature and graphic than the Anime, I enjoyed it, but it lacks this charm that the Anime carries. (If you’re wondering)
