Talk:Omni Productions

This page needs revision. Omni Productions itself is unconfirmed in written form for ANY of these films. Even though many of them share voice actors, there is no confirmed company attached them except for Godzilla: Final Wars, which was dubbed by Red Angel Media

The Return of Godzilla's dub was done by a firm owned/managed by a man named Matthew Oram, who was a rival to the companies that dubbed films with VAs like Warren Rooke (Shiragami in Biollante) and Chris Hilton (Kirishima in Biollante), as was Bye-Bye Jupiter.

I propose this is changed to something like "Tokusatsu Films dubbed in Hong Kong", to also include older material like The Secret of the Telegian through Terror of Mechagodzilla

I also suggest getting in contact with Red Angel Media to confirm or deny suspicious about the other Millennium Godzilla flicks

The Return of Godzilla and Sayonara Jupiter weren't on this list before, I think Astounding Beyond Belief just added them because he assumed this was a page for all post-1970's Hong Kong dubs. I guess everyone assumes that Godzilla vs. Biollante onward were all dubbed by Omni because, at least according to the Transformers Wiki, Omni Productions is the dubbing company founded by voice actor Rik Thomas, who appears in the international dubs for every Godzilla film from Biollante up until at least Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (I haven't ever watched the dubs for S.O.S. or Final Wars so I can't confirm myself if he dubbed them). If that information about him founding Omni Productions isn't accurate, then it explains why everyone mistakenly assumes Omni was the only company attached to these dubs. Rik is in S.O.S. and Final Wars. So while yes, the casts remain the same, sometimes the actual firm does differ.

Found confirmation that Omni Productions dubbed Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah through Rebirth of Mothra 3 here. Nonetheless, changing this to a page on Hong Kong dubbing in general would be best, since most of the substantial information we have on the industry as pertains to kaiju is from the Showa era.--ABB

I still think we should keep the Omni Productions page since we have confirmation it actually dubbed several films, but I also support the creation of a general page for Hong Kong dubbing. The King of the Monsters (talk) 03:52, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
