Akiji Kobayashi (小林 昭二,   Kobayashi Akiji), also miscredited in English as Shoji Kobayashi, was a Japanese actor and voice actor. Beginning to act in 1952, his career spanned over four decades until his death in 1996. He is perhaps best recognized among tokusatsu fans as SSSP Captain Muramatsu in the original Ultraman and Takeshi Hongo's mentor Tobee Tachibana in the original Kamen Rider. Toward the end of his career, he also entered the Godzilla series as Ryuzo Dobashi in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah and vs. Mothra. He passed away four years later on August 27, 1996 due to lung cancer.
