Trivia
- Hotaru's character in Reigo: King of the Sea Monsters is named Osako after his celebrated role as Tsutomu Osako in the Heisei Gamera trilogy.
- Hotaru is one of the few people to have acted in the Godzilla, Gamera, and Ultraman franchises. Others include Akiji Kobayashi, Takashi Nishina, Saburo Shinoda, and Mamoru Miyano.
- One of the reasons why Yukijiro accepted the offer to play Osako is because Yukitaro Hotaru, Yukijiro's mentor and the inspiration for his stage name, appeared in the 1967 film Gamera vs. Gyaos.[2]:274
