Galgameth is a 1996 American fantasy giant monster film produced by Sheen Communications. It made its theatrical premiere in Spain on November 18, 1996; it was subsequently brought to American home video in 1997 by Kidmark, a subsidiary of the newly-reincorporated Trimark Holdings. Based loosely on the Korean legend of Pulgasari, the film's story was penned by "Simon Sheen," a pseudonym adopted by South Korean director Shin Sang-ok for his work in the United States. It can therefore be seen as somewhat of a remake of Sang-ok's 1985 film Pulgasari, which was produced in North Korea against his will.
