History

Godzilla: Gangsters & Goliaths

"Moth and Flame"

While working in his auto garage, Jiro's coworker directed him to a suspicious man that had been waiting around the shop. Jiro went to meet the man, who, despite being wanted by the police and pronounced dead, was Jiro's father Makoto Sato. Jiro knew that his father was innocent, but believed without doubt that someone had framed and tried to kill him. Makoto revealed that Ryota Takahashi, the biggest crime lord in Tokyo had bought out the police force and that he was working with Mothra to bring justice back to the streets. He then bids Jiro to take his brother Koji Sato out of the city so that they would not become casualties of his war.

Later on, Jiro was tortured by Takahashi and his thugs in an attempt to learn his father's whereabouts. Jiro had no intention of giving them any information, but they eventually found the card his father had given him from his hotel, and they dumped him in his father's room, intending to kill them, but Takahashi discovered the Elias, and left them, vowing to conquer Tokyo.

"While Tokyo Burns"

Makoto supported Jiro out of the room, and into the street, where they found the Keepers of the Elias shot dead in an alley. They limped to a bar, where Makoto revealed that he was giving up. Enraged at this, Jiro accused his father's lifelong commitment to justice of being a joke before informing him of his plan. They broke into a G-Force base, which was too busy to notice them, and Jiro hacked the lock to access the long since mothballed Mechagodzilla. They were then stopped by Jiro's brother Koji Sato. Koji reminded them of the failure of the Mechagodzilla line of weapons, but Makoto revealed to him that they were not going to use it to stop Godzilla, but rather Takahashi.

"Makoto's Last Stand"

While flying Mechagodzilla to Takahashi Tower, they noticed an evacuation bus that was being attacked by Godzilla. Makoto was initially more focused on his mission with Takahashi, but changed his mind and had Mechagodzilla fire on Godzilla to attract his attention to them rather than the bus. Godzilla followed them as they piloted Mechagodzilla directly into Takahashi Tower's upper floors. Makoto exited the cockpit through a window in Mechagodzilla's eye, and ordered Jiro and Koji to protect innocent people. While doing so, they were forced to fight with Rodan, before Makoto successfully saved Tokyo and the monsters retreated. Jiro and Koji then attended their father's funeral as two of the few who knew how he had saved the city. Much later, the two used a fishing boat to visit the House of the Elias on Monster Island, where they found their father, alive and well as the Keeper of the Elias.
