Fifteen Alpha (フィフティーン・アルファ is a fictional Fifteen Alfa)Monarch-operated submarine that appeared in the 2024 Legendary Monsterverse film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
Design
Fifteen Alpha appears to be based on a Los Angeles-class or Ohio-class submarine but with a railing on the surface deck, as well as external lights on the bow and underneath the port and starboard. The design is similar to the USS Scorpion in Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
History
Monsterverse
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
Director Hampton at the Monarch base in Barbados called the submarine Fifteen Alpha after Godzilla left Cádiz, Spain. The commander of the sub reported that Godzilla's trajectory was heading toward Tiamat's lair in the Arctic Ocean, the largest stockpile of energy on Earth due to being in the direct path of electromagnetically charged solar winds. The commander explained if Godzilla killed Tiamat, the monster would supercharge.
Later, the commander of Fifteen Alpha reported they had traveled to Tiamat's domain, but something was off. Tiamat's energy was distorting the vessel's radar and there was no sign of Godzilla. The commander ordered one of the officers to go forward on silent running at 5 knots. The submarine turned on its external lights, when suddenly Godzilla's atomic breath blasted at Tiamat's lair and illuminated the surrounding environment. The beam narrowly passed the submarine, though Fifteen Alpha took minor damage. Godzilla subsequently fought and killed Tiamat before swimming into the Titan's lair through the hole he produced with his atomic breath.
