Lorelei: The Witch of the Pacific Ocean (ローレライ is a Rōrerai, lit. "Lorelei")2005 tokusatsu science fiction war film directed by Shinji Higuchi and written by Satoshi Suzuki based on Harutoshi Fukui's 2002 novel Lorelei: Das Lied zum Ende des Krieges, with special effects by Higuchi and Hiroshi Butsuda. Higuchi's directorial debut, it was funded by Fuji TV, Toho, Kansai TV, and King Records and produced by Toho Pictures and Cine Bazar. The film stars . Toho released it to Japanese theaters on March 5, 2005.

Development
Director Shinji Higuchi first met Harutoshi Fukui in the summer of 2000, expressing interest in adapting his 1999 novel Aimless Aegis to film.[3]
