Takuya Fujito (藤戸 拓也 Fujito Takuya) is the main human protagonist in the 1992 Godzilla film Godzilla vs. Mothra.
A former assistant professor of archaeology, Fujito used his expertise to find a new career as a treasure hunter and professional thief, raiding ancient ruins across the globe and selling artifacts he recovered. He was eventually arrested and jailed in Thailand, but was granted a release when he agreed to help the Japanese government survey Infant Island. Alongside his ex-wife Masako Tezuka and Marutomo Company representative Kenji Ando, Fujito discovered the colossal egg of Mothra and the two miniature Cosmos fairies. Fujito accompanied the egg as it was transported via a boat, only for it to hatch when Godzilla and the larval Battra attacked. He later stole the Cosmos from the Marutomo Company and attempted to sell them, but relented and returned them to Mothra at the urging of Masako and his daughter Midori. After making amends with his family and resolving to reform, he witnessed the final battle between the imago Mothra and Battra and Godzilla, and later bid farewell to Mothra at Haneda Airport.

Takuya is first seen being arrested for defacing an ancient shrine. He is later bailed out of a possible fifteen-year sentence by the Japanese military to investigate an island in Indonesia with his ex-wife Masako Tezuka, and a representative from a logging company, Kenji Ando. On the island, they discover the egg of Mothra, and her guardians, the Cosmos. They take them and the egg back to Japan only to find that the Cosmos have been stolen and the egg had hatched. They get the Cosmos back, but then Takuya steals them to sell on the black market for one million dollars. His daughter eventually convinces him to re-align his life and begin to think of others rather than himself. He follows the Cosmos' demands and Mothra is driven out of Tokyo so that it could fight Battra and Godzilla. Takuya watches first hand the battle between the three.
