"Manager Chibi Gabara" (店員はちびガバラ Ten'in wa Chibi Gabara, lit. "The Waiter is Chibi Gabara") is the 22nd episode of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again and the ninth episode of its second season. Written by Taketo Shinkai and Yuki Hirokawa, it aired on Japanese television on May 29, 2024. An English-subtitled version followed on the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel that June 5.
Plot
While sitting at a table in a family restaurant, Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Mechagodzilla and Chibi Ghidorah discuss the restaurant and its recent opening, with Chibi Godzilla confusing Chibi Mechagodzilla by referring to it as a "fasteraunt". The three decide to order food and Chibi Ghidorah calls out for a waiter though Chibi Gabara, who appears to be the only member of staff present, doesn't respond. After Chibi Godzilla also calls out, Chibi Gabara explains that he can hear them but only responds when called by name though he still doesn't come over when they read "Chibi Gabara" off his name tag, annoying Chibi Mechagodzilla. Chibi Gabara tells them that he is the only staff member at the restaurant on that day though when Chibi Mechagodzilla asks him what he is making, Chibi Gabara responds that he is hitting an empty pan so that it looks like he is working. He then comes over when Chibi Mechagodzilla and Chibi Ghidorah respond angrily to his laziness and he asks the three of them for their orders, recommending the daily lunch special though instantly claims that lunch has ended when Chibi Mechagodzilla requests it. Chibi Mechagodzilla then orders the hamburger set, Chibi Godzilla orders the spaghetti and meatballs, and Chibi Ghidorah orders the rice bowl though Chibi Gabara asks them to repeat their orders as he has already forgotten what they have ordered. After Chibi Ghidorah tells him off, Chibi Gabara says that he thinks he has the idea and returns to the kitchen, concerning Chibi Mechagodzilla.
The three of them listen as Chibi Gabara once again hits an empty pan in the kitchen while complaining about having to run the restaurant and wondering what to make for his customers, annoying Chibi Mechagodzilla. Chibi Gabara then places an entire radish on their table and refers to it as a "salad with not-in-season veggies" when Chibi Mechagodzilla comments that he could've at least made a meal with the radish. Chibi Gabara then prepares to go on a break but is stopped by Chibi Ghidorah, compelling him to tell the three of them about his dream of becoming a famous musician and the way he works towards it everyday though after he finishes, he immediately tells them that he only told them the story so that could get more "sympathy points" and he that resorts to this tactic when customers complain about his service. Chibi Mechagodzilla insults him though he assures them that he is telling the truth about wanting to become a famous musician though annoys them yet again when he reveals his lazy plans once he successfully becomes one.
