Akira Kubo is a Japanese actor. A major Toho star in the 1950's and 1960's, he received received prominent billing in six kaiju films from 1962 to 1970, playing the leads in *Matango, Destroy All Monsters, and Space Amoeba. He also appeared in two Akira Kurosawa films: Throne of Blood (1957) and Sanjuro (1962).
