Makoto Kamiya (神谷 誠,   Kamiya Makoto) is a Japanese director and visual effects supervisor. His career in kaiju eiga began in 1989, when he worked as an assistant director to Koichi Kawakita on Godzilla vs. Biollante. After serving as the 1st AD to Shinji Higuchi on Shusuke Kaneko's Heisei Gamera trilogy, Kaneko recruited him as director of special effects for Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. Kamiya later reunited with Higuchi for the latter's 2006 film Sinking of Japan, and has also directed effects for Toho et al.'s Gantz, Gantz: Perfect Answer, and I Am a Hero. Kamiya remains active in the Japanese film industry, having directed the CG-animated movies Resident Evil: Degeneration and Resident Evil: Damnation, and acting as the VFX supervisor for many of Shinsuke Sato's films.
