Mark Cotta Vaz is an American nonfiction author, editor, and film historian. He has authored over thirty books, including four New York Times bestsellers. Vaz primarily focuses on documenting the special effects, art design, and other behind-the-scenes elements of films from numerous well-known film series including Star Wars, Star Trek, Indiana Jones, King Kong, and Godzilla. Vaz has written several official companion books for films, as well as a biography of King Kong's original creator Merian C. Cooper.
