Ray Harryhausen

Raymond Frederick "Ray" Harryhausen was an American stop-motion animator and producer. Inspired to become a stop-motion animator after seeing King Kong at Sid Grauman's Theatre when he was 13,[1] Harryhausen made his feature film debut as the "first technician" of Mighty Joe Young in 1949. From there, he built a reputation as one of the country's best special effects artists, bringing to life prehistoric, mythological, and science-fiction monsters. His final film was 1981's Clash of the Titans.
