- Rie Ota is the first woman to portray a kaiju in the Godzilla series. The first known instance of a woman portraying a kaiju in any film is Yumi Kameyama portraying Super Gyaos in Gamera: Guardian of the Universe.
- Ota makes a cameo appearance alongside fellow suit actor Akira Ohashi, who plays King Ghidorah, as a worker at a fishery when Godzilla first lands at Yaizu in Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack.
