Akira Kubo (久保明 is a Japanese actor. A major Kubo Akira)Toho star in the 1950's and 1960's, he received received prominent billing in six kaiju films from 1962 to 1970, playing the leads in Matango, Son of Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters, and Space Amoeba. He also appeared in two Akira Kurosawa-directed films: Throne of Blood in 1957 and Sanjuro in 1962.
