Takeshi Yagi (八木 毅,   Yagi Takeshi) is a Japanese director, producer, and author. He is best known for his work on the television series of Tsuburaya Productions, who he was employed by for over ten years. He directed one feature length film, Superior Ultraman 8 Brothers (2008), after which he parted with Tsuburaya in order to pursue a freelance career. He has since directed two Godzilla-themed documentaries for NHK: Godzilla's Great Counterattack: Who Are You? (2014) and Godzilla's Leading Ladies (2020).[1] Most recently, Yagi directed, co-wrote, and co-produced the kaiju short film AKARI (2022) as part of a tokusatsu film production course for the online subscription service Narō, and is currently working to develop it into a longer piece.[2]
