Toshio Miike (三池 敏夫,   Miike Toshio) is a Japanese production designer, special effects director, and author. Affiliated with the Tokusatsu Laboratory, he has served as special effects art director on all three entries in Shusuke Kaneko's Heisei Gamera trilogy (1996-1999), the last four Godzilla films of the Millennium series (2001-2004), and all three live action entries in Hideaki Anno's Shin series (2016-2023), among others. He made his SFX directorial debut with the television series Daimajin Kanon (2010), and also directed the effects for Tsuburaya Productions' Ultraman Saga (2012). Miike began publishing an autobiographical book series entitled Toshio Miike's Secret Special Effects Chronicle in 2021, which has accumulated five installments, each covering roughly half a decade of his career.
