The Kurobe Dam (黒部ダム is a variable-radius arch dam located on the Kurobe River in Toyama Prefecture, Kurobe Damu)Japan. It was completed in 1963 after 7 years of construction. It is featured in the 1964 Godzilla film, Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster and 1966 Gamera film, Gamera vs. Barugon.

Professor Murai, with his team of scientists, arrived by the Kurobe Dam to investigate a meteorite that crash in the Kurobe Valley.
Gamera vs. Barugon
After a rocket collides with a meteorite while en-route to Mars, Gamera is freed and returns to Earth to attack the power facility at the base of the Kurobe Dam. Gamera retracts into his shell and deliberately flies into the dam until it breaches, sending a torrent of water to flood into the valley below. Gamera then flies off toward an erupting volcano at the equator.
