Nemuro
Nemuro (根室市 is a port city located on the Nemuro Peninsula in Nemuro-shi)Hokkaido, Japan. It is mentioned in the 1962 Godzilla film King Kong vs. Godzilla, and appears in the 1999 film, Godzilla 2000: Millennium.

King Kong vs. Godzilla
In summer 1962, after conducting strength tests of his new synthetic textile, Tokyo Cable Manufacturing engineer Kazuo Fujita departed the Shinsei Maru No. 2 at the port of Nemuro. As the ship was later sunk by Godzilla, Fujita's fiancée Fumiko Sakurai boarded a northbound Tsugaru Express to Hakodate in search of him as a possible survivor, unaware of his earlier departure.
Millennium era
Godzilla 2000: Millennium
One night, Godzilla surfaced in the waters off Hokkaido, coming ashore by a lighthouse near Cape Nosappu. Godzilla continued walking inland until he reached the city of Nemuro. Godzilla rampaged through the city and eventually reached a small electrical plant, which he promptly destroyed. As Godzilla roared loudly, Godzilla Prediction Network founder Yuji Shinoda remarked that it seemed Godzilla was trying to destroy mankind's energy sources.
