Showa era
Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster
After a meteorite crashed in the Kurobe Valley near Kurobe Dam, a team of scientists led by Professor Murai met with a group of workers there before investigating.
Gamera vs. Barugon
After the Z-Plan rocket collided with a meteorite while en-route to Mars, Gamera was freed and returned to Earth to attack the power facility at the base of Kurobe Dam. Gamera retracted into his shell and deliberately flew into the dam until it breached, sending a torrent of water to flood into the valley below. Gamera then flew off toward an erupting volcano at the Equator.
