Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Monarch discovered Mokele-Mbembe under Jebel Barkal, Sudan, and constructed Outpost 75 to research it. Mokele-Mbembe was among the Titans awoken by King Ghidorah to attack humanity. After Madison Russell activated the Orca in Boston, Mokele-Mbembe and the rest of the Titans were pacified.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters - The Official Movie Novelization
Master Sergeant Margaret Nez arrived in Monarch Outpost 75 in the wake of Alan Jonah's raid on Outpost 61 on the behalf of the United States to oversee the Outpost's security. She bore witness to the Outpost's resident Titan, Mokele-Mbembe, and later advised Outpost head Dr. Kearns to kill the beast after Jonah and Emma Russell released King Ghidorah, but he refused. Ghidorah then awoke the rest of the Titans, including Mokele, who overloaded its containment field and knocked over the control room before Nez could activate its kill switch. Mokele burst out from beneath a pyramid and began attacking and devouring fleeing Monarch staff before charging north into Egypt.
