Shinagawa
Shinagawa (品川区 is a special ward and business district within the city of Shinagawa-ku)Tokyo, the capital city of Japan. Owing to its presence within Tokyo, the area has been featured in several of Toho's kaiju films, first appearing in the original 1954 Godzilla film.
History
Showa era
Godzilla
After his existence was revealed to the world on Odo Island, Godzilla next made his presence known in Shinagawa, having survived the use of depth charges against him by the JSDF. Surfacing from Tokyo Bay one night, he terrified the passengers and crew aboard a pleasure boat before coming ashore, where he proceeded to rampage through the ward's port facility and attack a passing train before returning to Tokyo Bay almost as quickly as he had arrived.
Reiwa era
Shin Godzilla
Having come ashore in Kamata, Godzilla eventually made his way into Shinagawa, where he underwent a remarkably fast mutation which led to him evolving from his second form to his third, gaining an upright posture and sprouting arms. A squadron of attack helicopters were given the order to attack him, but the order was called off when the Prime Minister learned that there were still civilians in the area in the process of evacuating. As Godzilla began to overheat, he made his way to Tokyo Bay and escaped.
Godzilla Minus One
After destroying the Takao off the coast of the Ogasawara Islands, Godzilla continued his path towards the Japanese main island of Honshu, arriving in Tokyo via Shinagawa. Once ashore, he continued towards Ginza, which would suffer the most from his assault.
