The Ikata Nuclear Power Plant (伊方発電所,   Ikata hatsudensho) is a nuclear power plant located in the town of Ikata in the Nishiuwa District in Ehime Prefecture, Japan.

History

Godzilla vs. Destoroyah

Burning Godzilla approaches the Ikata Nuclear Plant in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah

Godzilla suddenly appeared in the Bungo Channel, and began to approach the Ikata plant in order to feed on its reactors. Fearing that a direct attack would potentially cause Godzilla to explode, G-Force deployed the Super X3, piloted by Sho Kuroki, to stop Godzilla from attacking the facility. The Super X3 used its advanced freezer weapons to successfully freeze Godzilla before he could make landfall at the plant, and a nuclear disaster was averted for the time being.

Trivia

  • The Ikata Nuclear Power Plant is the only nuclear plant on the island of Shikoku.
