Though he only typically appeared in bit parts, Suzuki was an extremely prolific film and television actor between 1952 and 1976, appearing in several films directed by Akira Kurosawa and Ishiro Honda, as well as television dramas airing on many of Japan's major networks. Suzuki made his debut in Kurosawa's critically-acclaimed film Ikiru in 1952, playing a receptionist, and went on to appear in countless Toho films, each time playing minor background characters and sometimes playing up to three roles in the same film.
