List of King Kong movies

From Wikizilla, the kaiju encyclopedia

This is a list of all King Kong movies in order of release date. There are eight currently-released live-action King Kong films, one currently in development, and three animated films. Unlike the Godzilla and Gamera series, the Kong films are not primarily produced by a single studio, as multiple different studios have produced Kong films, and no single studio has produced more than two films.

King Kong movies always seem to follow this odd pattern where two get released at a time, but no third movie comes afterwards.

1. King Kong (1933)
2. Son of Kong

1. King Kong vs. Godzilla
2. King Kong Escapes

De Laurentiis

1. King Kong (1976)
2. King Kong Lives

BKN International

1. Kong: King of Atlantis
2. Kong: Return to the Jungle

1. Kong: Skull Island
2. Godzilla vs. Kong

There are only two exceptions to this, and that's The Mighty Kong by Warner Bros. and Universal's 2005 King Kong remake.

It's nice to finally have this page on the wiki. Should Japanese King Kong and The King Kong That Appeared in Edo be added to the 'See Also' section?
