List of King Kong movies

This is a list of all feature-length King Kong movies in order of release date. There are currently 13 films in the franchise—10 live-action and three animated—with an 11th live-action film currently in production. Unlike the Godzilla and Gamera series, the Kong films are not primarily produced by a single studio, and only one company (Legendary Pictures) has ever produced more than two of them.

  1. ↑ King Kong vs. Godzilla's U.S. version was directed by Thomas Montgomery. King Kong Escapes's U.S. version credits Arthur Rankin Jr. as director despite no new footage being shot; he is only credited on the Japanese version as "technical advisor."
