Ghilaron
|
Ghilaron is a mutant creature made by Dr. Demonicus who appears in issues #4 and 5 of the 1977 Marvel comic series, Godzilla, King of the Monsters.
History
Godzilla, King of the Monsters
A creation of the evil scientist Dr. Demonicus, Ghilaron was one of several monsters enslaved by the crazed scientist, living in a hollowed-out volcanic island that Demonicus had converted into his secret base.
Ghilaron was present when Demonicus' prized creation Batragon returned from its initial battle with Godzilla, using the powerful energy of the Lifestone meteorite embedded into the volcano to heal its wounds. The bat monster didn't rest for long as Godzilla managed to track the beast to the island and engaged in a rematch with Batragon, resulting in the death of Demonicus' favorite mutation.
After the demise of Batragon, Dr. Demonicus unleashed the rest of his creations on Godzilla and the SHIELD agents that followed him. Ghilaron, along with fellow monsters Lepirax and Centipor, scaled their rocky enclosure and immediately began attacking Godzilla. Ghilaron lasted significantly longer than Centipor but soon found himself at the mercy of the mighty monster king and ultimately killed as Godzilla used his strength to strangle the monster and snap its neck.
Abilities
Physical Abilities
Ghilaron's most prominent ability is his eight appendages which allow him to scale surfaces quickly and to constrict enemies with his long, slender body.
