The Giant Electric Eel is a mutated Electric Eel monster created by Hanna-Barbera that first appeared in episode 23 of the 1979 Hanna-Barbera series, Godzilla, titled "The Macro-Beasts."

The Giant Electric Eel was among several marine animals enlarged to giant size, thanks to recent volcanic eruptions and a mysterious underground substance emerging from Capaldi Island; a relatively young formation which itself was created by the aforementioned geological activity. A large pack Giant Electric Eels become hostile and attacked Majors and Brock, disabling their barriers and threatening to kill them. Luckily, Majors calls on Godzilla, who arrives just in time to frighten off the eels with his lasers, wrangling them into the cave.
