Aburasumashi (油すまし) is a kind of Japanese folklore creature which appeared in the 1968 Daiei films Yokai Monsters: 100 Monsters and Yokai Monsters: Spook Warfare, the 2005 Kadokawa film The Great Yokai War, and its 2021 sequel The Great Yokai War: Guardians.

The Aburasumashi is seen dancing in the crowd of yokai as they marched out of a castle.

Yokai Monsters: Spook Warfare

In this film, Aburasumashi has an important role and is one of the protagonists. He helps battle Daimon but is defeated. Later he becomes a member of the Spirit Army and kills Daimon by stabbing his right eye after the Kakasa lifted him up.
