The Giant Black Widow is a spider monster created by Hanna-Barbera that appeared in the 1979 Godzilla episode "Valley of the Giants."
History
The Giant Black Widow lived in the Valley of Giants, where it preyed on the monsters that lived there, and the Calico crew found it when they were in the valley. The crew called Godzilla just as it was going to eat them, and Godzilla overpowered the Giant Black Widow, forcing it to retreat. Godzilla roamed the valley, and the Giant Black Widow stalked Godzilla, jumping onto his back and biting him when Captain Majors tried calling Godzilla to fight Giant Bees living in the valley.
Godzilla was poisoned by the bite and fell unconscious, being cocooned shortly afterward. Soon afterwards, the Calico crew found Godzilla in the cocoon, and Godzooky was trapped in a giant spider web. As the Giant Black Widow was about to eat Godzooky, Godzooky called Godzilla in the struggle and Godzilla managed to get out of the cocoon.
