- Raban-17 became the basis for the Iron Dai-Kaijū in the GeGeGe no Kitarō franchise. In a reversal of Monster Raban, it is Dai-Kaijū who possesses a breath weapon instead of his mechanical counterpart.
- Raban-17 uses the concept of a mechanical monster being constructed to fight an organic monster, a theme that would not be made popular until Mechani-Kong's appearance in the 1967 film King Kong Escapes and Mechagodzilla's appearance in the 1974 film Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla.
