The Snarehunter Queen is a predatory insect monster profiled in "Kong: Skull Island Cinematic Adventure".

Name

The Snarehunter Queen is named after the Queen of the Snarehunters. The Snarehunter's scientific name, Cantus Silva Ant, comes from Cantus, Latin for "singing", derived from cantare, and the Latin word Silva, meaning “forest.”

Design

The Snarehunter Queen is a slender ant with three body segments and six legs. It appears to be covered in some sort of foliage, and has branches in the place where antannae would typically be. It has a single pair of wings on its back, which are covered in branches, and its legs seem especially covered in foliage. The queen has large, black eyes and short mandibles relative to its body and head.

Personality

Normally queens are not seen outside the nests only when the hive is destroyed or under the most dire threat do they emerge. Monarch has labled the queens as protectors, along with the Titans Godzilla, Mothra, Kong, Behemoth, and Methuselah.

Trivia

  • In Kong: Skull Island, Hank Marlow talks about ants that sing like birds, although confirmation if snarehunters were the mentioned species has yet to be revealed.
