Kong of Skull Island #6 is a comic book by BOOM! Studios. It was released in December 2016.

Plot

Amidst the horrifying battle with the god of the Deathrunners, which Ewata recognizes from old breeding records as conjoined twins, the humans resolve that the animal can be killed by the Kong. Ewata gives Tuno orders as the Kong fights the two-headed beast, who quickly realizes that she is the brains of their team, and orders the Deathrunners after her. The Atu Kong trainer Gret then notices this, and abandons Usana and V'Drell to protect her, much to V'Drell's ire, though Gret counters this by reminding V'Drell that he himself had never had much faith in royalty. V'Drell then issues a death warrant for Ewata as Gret and his Kong Kuan enter the fight with her and Valla. Ewata's baby then moves inside her, and Gret realizes that she is carrying the heir to the throne. With his soldiers being preoccupied with the Deathrunner fight, none agree to kill Ewata, and instead suggest a trail when they return. Enraged by this, V'Drell takes it upon himself, but sensing the eminent danger, Valla begins to climb a nearby mountain to escape him. After a party member reveals to Usana that they will likely not survive, Usana takes the last of the repellent fragrances and leaves them to return to the city. Valla then places Ewata out of harm's way as V'Drell stalks up the mountain. Valla notices him, and he throws a volatile fragrance in her face, and reveals that he killed K'reti, prompting Ewata to spring down upon him with a boulder, crushing and killing him. She then resolved to use the mixture that had injured Valla to save the party. As Usana treks through the jungle, it begins to rain, washing the repellent scents off her skin, and she is immediately eaten by a Deathrunner. Ewata then throws the poisonous mixture into one of the twin demon's heads and a Kong breaks its remaining jaw. This defeat prompts the Deathrunners to retreat. After the battle, Ewata is seized for killing the Shaman, but one of the party members comes to her defense and informs them that V'Drell intended to kill her unborn child. The party is understanding, but all recognize that the Atu will demand some form of justice. After losing their leaders, the people begin to identify as the Tagu-Atu, and even book to Ewata as their queen. Unfortunately, Valla is banished as having killed the Shaman, due to Ewata's using every bit of her political power to ensure she is not killed. When Ewata's daughter K'vanni is born, Ewata takes her to a cliff with a small platform built upon it and calls Valla to come meet her child. Sani the storyteller fears that one day soon, the people will forget all that Ewata did for them, as a spiritual leader in the village preaches that dark days, where the people on the island become the monsters they fear is fast approaching.
