The Biono-bots are nondescript "Biono-botic" monsters developed by Dr. Richard Remy that first appeared in the pilot episode of the 2016 animated kaiju show, Kong: King of the Apes titled "The Adventure Begins".
Name
The term "Biono-bot" is an amalgamation of the words "bionic" and "robot", with "robot" implying that they are entirely artificial in nature, and "bionic", itself being a merging of "biology" and "electronic", referring to the study of replicating nature through engineering.
Origins
A lifelong dream of Richard Remy, he was not able to produce life-sized robotic dinosaurs until 2049 as a part of a natural history museum that his father was building on Alcatraz Island. While the most common Biono-bots appear simply as cyborg dinosaurs, or even simply armored dinosaurs, they are entirely inorganic and do not bleed when torn apart. Despite this, Remy implies that DNA is at least used if not necessary in the creation of Biono-bots, calling the very concept of what a Biono-bot is into question. Further complicating the matter, Remy considers himself a Biono-bot despite being mostly organic and receiving his bionic augmentations well before he began production of other Biono-bots. However, due to Botila's being considered a Biono-bot, and Richard's work before he created the various artificial creatures now synonymous with the term, he may use the term to refer to anything utilizing his special mix of Bionics and robotics, be they partially or entirely synthetic.
History
Kong: King of the Apes
The Biono-bots are Dr. Richard Remy's primary defense against King Kong, and are used for various purposes throughout the series, ranging from basic attack or defense, to mining. While most Biono-bots are fully robotic dinosaur replicas, a second generation of Biono-bots, consist of armor on organic organisims, such as the Giant Anaconda. Richard is also capable of producing "Biono-clones": cloned animals cybernetically enhanced with "Biono-tech".
Abilities
Lasers
While the abilities of the various Biono-bots change based upon their design, most can shoot lasers from their eyes or mouths.
Shielded power source
After the events of "Snake in the Grass", Richard retrofitted all Biono-bots with an advanced shield on their power source to prevent them from shutting down upon overcharging, like had happened to the Giant Anaconda.
Types of Biono-Bots
Little Richard
|
Little Richard is a miniature replica of a Tyrannosaurus rex built by a young Richard Remy in 2039.
Tyrannosaurus rex
|
The Biono-bot Tyrannosaurus is a type of Biono-bot built to resemble the long extinct Tyrannosaurus rex in 2049 by Dr. Richard Remy along with the rest of the Biono-bots as attractions in the "Dino Zone Prehistoric Wildlife Show" at the Remy Natural History and Marine Preserve on Alcatraz Island.
Abilities
Laser beams
With the aid of two devices mounted on the sides of their heads, and targeting systems within their eyes, Biono-bot Tyrannosaurus can fire two laser beams.
Trivia
- Kong's battle with the Tyrannosaurus Biono-bot on Alcatraz Island in "The Adventure Begins" is reminiscent of the original King Kong's fight with the Meat-Eater, as he slams it to the ground and climbs on its back.
Triceratops
|
The Biono-bot Triceratops is a type of Biono-bot built in the image of the the long extinct genus Triceratops. They were constructed in 2049 by Dr. Richard Remy along with the rest of the Biono-bots as attractions in the "Dino Zone Prehistoric Wildlife Show" at the Remy Natural History and Marine Preserve on Alcatraz Island.
Pteranodon
|
The Biono-bot Pteranodon is a type of Biono-bot built in the image of the the long extinct genus Pteranodon. They were constructed in 2049 by Dr. Richard Remy along with the rest of the Biono-bots as attractions in the "Dino Zone" at the Remy Natural History and Marine Preserve.
Abilities
Laser beam
The Biono-bot Pteranodons can shoot lasers from their eyes and mouths.
Sharp claws
The claws of the Biono-bot Pteranodon are sharp enough to cut hair on contact, and they are seen scratching Kong and cutting off bits of his fur.
Strength
Biono-bot Pteranodons have demonstrated incredible strength. One has been shown to be capable of staying airborne while supporting the immense weight of Kong.
Mountable chassis
The Biono-bot Pteranodon can split its crest in two to provide access to a set of handles hidden inside to allow a person to ride on its back. When being ridden, a control console on the back of its neck allows it to be controlled more precisely.
Giant Squid
|
The Biono-bot Giant Squid is a type of Biono-bot built in the image of the the genus Giant Squid. They were constructed in 2049 by Dr. Richard Remy along with the rest of the Biono-bots as attractions in the "Dino Zone" at the Remy Natural History and Marine Preserve.
Abilities
Suction grips
Much like the cephalopod upon which it is based, the Biono-bot giant squid boasts suction gripping pads on its tentacles.
Mouth aperture
Despite not needing to eat, the Biono-bot giant squid seems to be able to make use of its aperture mouth as a weapon.
Megalodon
|
The Biono-bot Megalodon is a type of Biono-bot built in the image of the the extinct genus Megalodon. They were constructed in 2049 by Dr. Richard Remy along with the rest of the Biono-bots as attractions in the "Dino Zone" at the Remy Natural History and Marine Preserve.
Giant Anaconda
|
The Giant Anaconda is a type of Biono-bot built in the image of the Giant Anaconda. By the year 2050, the Amazon rainforest of Brazil was almost completely depleted, which forced the wildlife that had lived there to flee. The Giant Anaconda floated North along the Usumacincta river until she ended up in Mexico. After being captured by Richard Remy, the Giant Anaconda was subjected to cybernetic conversion which gave her the Biono-bot classification along with armor and new electrical abilities.
Abilities
Electrocution
With its Biono-bot armor, the Giant Anaconda can send an electric shock through its body and into its prey.
Super-forged titanium armor
With Remy's biono-botic upgrades, the anaconda was outfitted with experimental titanium armor.
Constriction
As a part of her Anaconda Physiology, Giant Anaconda can constrict her prey to kill it before consumption.

Trivia
- The model used for the Giant Anaconda was later repurposed for 41 Entertainment's 2017 animated children's' Netflix show Tarzan and Jane with a new green re-texture.
Bionobotic Monkeys

Frankenbots

The Frankenbots are a type of Biono-bot built in the image of Tyannosaurus rex, Triceratops, Pteranodon, Giant Squid, Megalodon, and disembodied parts.
