Daimon (ダイモン,   Daimon) is a demonic Babylonian yokai who appears in the 1968 Daiei film Yokai Monsters: Spook Warfare.

Design

Daimon is a creature from ancient Babylonia that has brown feathers on its body, a raised skeleton, legs, and limbs, and resembles a bird of prey.

Origins

Daimon was entombed for four thousand years after destroying the city of Ur in Babylonia, until two treasure hunters unintentionally awoke him.

History

Yokai Monsters: Spook Warfare

The demonic Daimon was awoken in Babylonia when its tomb was disturbed by treasure hunters. After killing them, it took to the sky and flew towards Japan. After capsizing a ship, it fought a samurai leader. However, the samurai lost and the Daimon possessed his body. After drinking the blood of many humans, the Daimon decided to drink the blood of children. It was at this point a Kappa attempted to lay claim as the 'local yokai' and fought the demon, retreating when Daimon vigorously rubbed it's head dish against a wooden post. The Kappa returned later with a few of it's yokai friends, but the Daimon once again, proved to be to powerful in the dark arts. One of the yokai whistled, and summoned all the local yokai to battle. It was then found out that its weakness was its eyes, and was stabbed in the right eye, thus ending the demon's life.

Abilities

Size changing

Daimon can grow from human size to a height of 20 feet at will, allowing him to take on the entire yokai army.

Flight

Daimon is equipped with a set of wings that allow it to take flight. He used this ability in order to fly from his tomb in Babylonia to Japan.

Weaknesses

After Daimon transformed into his giant state, Aburasumashi, who is resurrected as a part of the ghost army after being killed earlier in the film, and two other yokai slap him in the right eye, defeating him for good.
