Battle in Outer Space
After an unknown force began pulling objects into air and caused havoc and destruction throughout the world, the United Nations held a meeting at the Japan Space Research Center which Iranian delegate Dr. Ahmed attended. During the meeting, Ahmed suddenly walked out as if he was hypnotized, then was abducted by a red light in the courtyard. When he returned, he attempted to sabotage a heat ray experiment. He was caught before he could succeed, but took Space Research Center employee Etsuko Shiraishi hostage. He declared that Earth would become a colony of the planet Natarl. Major Katsumiya, Etsuko's lover, freed her, before Ahmed attempted to escape. A Natarl UFO soon appeared and disintegrated him, leaving behind a radio transmitter which allowed the UN to determine the aliens' location: the Moon.
Kong: The Animated Series
"Enlil's Wrath"
Dr. Jenkins discovered a vortex over Iran, which she bid her allies to investigate. The vortex was being created by a ritual being performed on one of Ramone De La Porta's Primal Stones. Jenkins reported that she believed that the storm system over Iran was being sent to Kong Island. They arrived in Iran, traveled through the desert where they were separated from Kong, and were captured by a nomadic tribe that took them prisoner for allegedly kidnapping their shaman. Kong rescued them in the night, but the tribesmen noticed and regarded Kong as a demon, to whom they must pray to Enlil to be rid of. De La Porta began to grow impatient as he waited for the shaman to use the Primal Stone to destroy Kong Island with the weather system. He ordered his henchmen to search for Kong and his friends, and Frazetti found them and merged with a hyena he found in a nearby cave to pursue them. Initially, the Cyber-Hyena's speed was too much for Kong, and Jason Jenkins was too far away to merge with him, so Tann bid Kong to slide under the hyena's feet, which caused it to fall forward and separate from Frazetti. They captured Frazetti, who told them that they were too late to save Kong Island, so they let him go and rushed to the coordinates given to them by Dr. Jenkins. Kong and Jason climbed the mountain to the temple where De La Porta delivered an ultimatum: save the nomadic Shaman or get the stone. Jason and Kong separated to do both. Kong obtained the stone, but De La Porta escaped. When speaking to the shaman about the stone, he defended them from his tribesmen by revealing that Chiros destroyed their ancestors' civilization, and so they prayed to Enlil, god of storms, to aid The Protector when he returned, as he had defeated Chiros. He then reversed the damage on Kong Island, and Dr. Jenkins watched as a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky.

Trivia
- In 2020, a new species of Iranian spitting spider was given the scientific name of Scytodes kumonga as a tribute to the Toho kaiju Kumonga.[1]
- In the script for The Cellar, ultimately released as 10 Cloverfield Lane, a character in a fallout shelter relays a rumor that Iran launched a massive attack against the United States using Russian stockpiles of nuclear and chemical weapons. Unlike in the film, where the devastation is caused by aliens, the script ends with Michelle reaching Chicago to find it in ruins, suggesting the rumors may have been correct.[2]
