"The Macro-Beasts"
As the Calico crew were en route to the Island of Kapalai in Malaysia, Captain Majors and Quinn noticed a volcanic eruption nearby, pushing up another island in its place and endangering Pete and Brock. The eruption also caused the island to be ripped in half and a fissure ending up swallowing the boys and Godzooky, threatening to close up and crush them. Godzooky called out to Godzilla, who arrived just in time to pull them out of the fissure. After rescuing them, Godzilla then grabbed the Calico and placed it farther away from the eruption to prevent any more trouble.

Prior to his official sighting in 2009, the Global Titan Defense Initiative (GTDI) only knew of Rawa via Southeast Asian artwork resembling him, like the various depictions of "Phaya Nāgas".
In 2019, Japan successfully launched its Titan-hunting mecha Thundatross, allowing them to stand independent of the predatory "protection services" of the GTDI for the first time since the retirement of Gigaman in 2012. Due to this, other countries scrambled to make their own giant robots to fight off the Titans, forming an international weapons pact known as the "Aegis Program". As they lacked the secret "Gigatron Reactor" technology needed to make powerful AI-assisted units on the same level as Thundatross, the program instead involved the creation of "Aegis" mecha teams (also known as "Mighty Warriors"), with each team member able to combine and form a single "Super Aegis" unit using the magnetic Universal Adaptor System. Malaysia made at least one Aegis unit named "Crown", which they named and modeled after the durian, considered the "king of fruits" in certain parts of Southeast Asia. The green machine has a unique means of locomotion, moving around by bouncing on the ground. Its pilot was a shy, anonymous 21 year-old hacker who went by the same codename as her mecha.

The Aegis Program was eventually put to the test by the abrupt arrival of Balzarr, an extraterrestrial manticore with an insatiable hunger for Giga Crystals. When it arrived on Earth on or before May 27, 2021, the beast tore through most of Earth's defenses. In two weeks, it had ransacked 12 Giga Crystal storage facilities all over the world, devastating the US, Canada, China, Malaysia, Korea, France, and the Kahu'a Republic.
Balzarr's global path of destruction led to the death of almost all known Mighty Warriors around the world. The rookie pilot of Japan's sole Aegis unit, Eji Yōsuke of the red stag beetle "Kabuto", then gathered the survivors, starting from bodybuilder Jack Kavana of Kahua Republic's blue Rex, Sergeant Sam Williams of the black U.S. tank "Liberty", and ace pilot Zhou Yang of China's golden dragon "Tian Long". Finally, he recruited Crown of Malaysia, believing that she could be the glue to hold the team together despite her social anxiety issues, a role she ended up fulfilling in an almost-literal sense when Kabuto asked her to increase the magnetization of their Aegis units by 500% to prevent the team members from splitting off when combined. While doing this, Crown secretly hacked their team's system's mainframe to read classified information about the other team members, inspiring her to come up with what to call this last Super Aegis team, "R.O.J.A.K.", named after a Malaysian salad, referencing the unity the team needed to embody despite the cultural and personal differences of its members, like the salad's ingredients. R.O.J.A.K. sought to end Balzarr's carnage and avenge their fallen comrades. Crown formed its left arm, generating and shooting durian bombs at lobbed trajectories.

Kong: Skull Island - The Official Movie Novelization
After a mission on behalf of the Malaysian government, James Conrad left the British Special Forces. He and five others were tasked with rescuing Jenny, the 7-year-old daughter of a Malaysian woman and a British embassy worker, from a "rogue unit" of Indonesian soldiers holding her for ransom. As they approached the border, an ambush killed two of his men and Jenny; when he examined the wound in her head, he realized that it was from a sniper rifle, meaning their mission was not meant to succeed. It is this incident that made Conrad lose faith in his country, its government, and himself, as he began to accept freelance missions—as long as he felt the odds were in his favor.

Trivia
- In the unmade 1990 film Mothra vs. Bagan, Mothra would have confronted Bagan at the Thailand-Malaysia border to do battle against the ancient monster.
- Burger King Malaysia offered Godzilla-themed food for a limited time in promotion for the 2014 Legendary Pictures film Godzilla.
- Aside from Balzarr's assault and Crown, several aspects of GigaBash pay homage to the game's country of origin, Malaysia:
- One of Tarabak Island's primary inspirations is Borneo Island, the north side of which is occupied by the East Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak.[1] The latter is where Gerald Yong, the game's first writer, grew up, and was also an influence on island's name.[2]
- Skorak's name is based on "skull" and the Malay equivalent of that word, "tengkorak", pertaining to his armor and main weapon.[3][4][5]
- Rohanna is based on the Sang Kelembai giantess of Malay folklore, tigers (Malaysia's national animal, which inspired the patterns of her dress), and the bunga raya flower (Malaysia's national flower), with the Malaysian influence even extending to the monster's name; Rohana, spelled with one "n", is one of the company's project managers, as it is a common girl's name in Malaysia, hence the need to add an extra "n" to prevent confusion between the two.[6][5]
- Rawa shares his name with an island in the southern Malaysian state of Johor, which was in turn named for its white doves. Rawa is generally a Southeast Asian reference, as he was also based on the mythical nāgas, one of which is said to inhabit Chini Lake in the federal state of Pahang Darul Makmur.[7] These references extend to Zargorah, the combined form of Rawa and Balzarr, most especially in his second, serpentine form.
- The name of Gaya, the entity Sho bonded with to become Gigaman, means "style" or "pose" in Malay. Fittingly, Gigaman became more flashy when Sho and Gaya strengthened their ties to assume their upgraded form, "Gaya Gigaman". As with Rawa, Gaya references Southeast Asia in general, as he is based off of the Philippine eagle and a Hindu deity, the divine bird king Garuda, who is the enemy of all serpents, and therefore, all nāgas.[8]
- One of the likely factors behind the inclusion of Ultraman Tiga as a DLC character is his high popularity in Malaysia. Fittingly, his name means "three" in Malay, reflecting his three main forms.[9]
- Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire crossed over with the Malaysian comic series X-VENTURE: Primal Power in the 2024 manga Which is Stronger!? Godzilla x Kong.
