Kong of Skull Island #7 is a comic book by BOOM! Studios. It was released in January 2017.

Plot

In the Tagu-Atu village, Ewata is anointed as a temporary ruler until K'vanni is old enough to assume the throne. Valla, who had sneaked near the wall of the village to watch the ceremony then stalks back to her lair to rest. She is awoken by the cries for help of a miner with a broken leg, who had been injured in a tunnel collapse. He was initially grateful that it was a Kong and not a Deathrunners, but on recognizing Valla as "The Untamed Kong", he begins to try to fight her off, but she picks him up and returns him to the village. The guards atop the wall are wary to allow Valla to approach, and after she delivers the miner Ewata comes to prevent the guards from harming her. She is allowed to leave as a show of gratitude for risking her life by returning to save the miner. Back in the jungle, two Kong hunters, who are intent on eliminating Valla as revenge for a Kong having killed one of their sisters during the evacuation from the original island. They leave a scarecrow of sorts filled with aromatic powder designed to awaken all of the latent savage tendencies in a Kong. Unfortunately for them, it works better than expected, and Valla smashes one of the hunters against a tree, killing him. The others are able to escape due to Valla becoming distracted by two Deathrunners attacking a Triceratops. She brutally defeats the assailants and beats her chest in victory before plunging into the waters off a cliff, and hearing the cries of an infant Kong. As she gets closer to it she discovers it has heavy scarring on its back. Before Valla can interact more with it, its mother, a heavily battle scarred Kong with a dead Deathrunner in hand yanks it away from Valla.
