Description

Godzilla is back—and in the U.S.A.—in an all-new, full-color, adventure-packed book featuring the great prehistoric monster himself pitted against the indomitable Cokra! Follow his cross-country tour of the States, from New York Harbor to the Golden Gate, as our favorite hero makes yet another conquest—the hearts of America!

Plot

Godzilla makes landfall in New York City to take a vacation. This arrival is met without much panic, with some even making T-shirt and hot dog promotions in the monster's image. Two days later, he drives to the Monster Burger restaurant in Connecticut, scaring and annoying the residents in the process. He later participates in a baseball game held in Chicago under the pseudonym Gary Godzi, helping the Lizards beat the Lions.

Meanwhile, back in New York, thousands of apartments in the city's Upper West Side are raided by the giant cockroach kaiju Cokra and her offspring, much to the dismay of the residents. The National Guard is called out alongside Godzilla, who is in Miami filming a guest appearance on a local television show when the attack happens. The King of the Monsters confronts her and her children at an off-shore oil tanker, but Cokra escapes, leaving an oil spill from the damaged tanker for him to clean up. Later, Godzilla does battle with invading aliens at Cape Canaveral, who manage to retreat and mock him when he accidentally lets go of their spaceship.

Cokra and her children later resurface at Three Mile Island, spurring fears of a nuclear disaster or Earth being overrun by giant cockroaches. After fighting them for several hours, Godzilla manages to stop the roach horde by tiring them out. He manages to get a brief period of peace, participating in activities such as performing at a concert, marching in a parade held in his honor, carving his head into Mount Rushmore, and unintentionally ruining an Easter event, but Cokra and her offspring eventually resurface in California. While Godzilla fights her a third time, the San Andreas fault produces a destructive earthquake that forces the monsters to stop fighting. In a surprising turn of events, the two appear to reconcile, with Cokra leaving Godzilla a box of chocolates under the guise of a secret admirer. Godzilla later runs for the United States Senate with the assistance of Cokra's children, leading to him being given the opportunity to decorate the White House's Christmas tree.

After sunning himself on, and consequently doing great damage to, San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, Godzilla tearfully departs back home to Japan, having loved his visit to the United States.
