The object was detected by sattelite imagery and gained the attention of the Marutomo Company which had been developing the island. Japanese government secretary Ruzo Dobashi, Marutomo Company employee Kenji Ando, and Masako Tezuka visited Tezuka's ex-husband Takuya Fujito in a Thai prison, offering to nullify his crimes if he ventured to Infant Island to investigate the egg. With no other option, Fujito accepted, and as he, Tezuka, and Ando arrived at Infant Island they found an area of land cut clear by the company. After a day's worth of perilous journey to reach the egg, the trio ventured through a cave with paintings of two large fighting moths before a ray of light showed them thr path to the egg. They encountered the Cosmos, who explained the history of Mothra and Battra. Ando contacted his superior, Takeshi Tomokane, who arranges for Mothra's egg to be brought to Japan as a tourist attraction; believing it to be safer than leaving the egg out in the open, the Cosmos allow it.
