Brambleboar
|
The Brambleboar is a Titan[3] from Axis Mundi who first appeared in episode 9 of the 2023 Apple TV+ television series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, "Axis Mundi".
Name
The Brambleboar's name was chosen by Legendary's mythology team, led by Barnaby Legg.[4] The Brambleboar was referred to as a "pig with 25 crazy horns' by Lee Shaw actor, Kurt Rusell.
Personality
The Brambleboar initially reacted with curiosity when it encountered Cate Randa, and remained passive to her after it had lost interest. However, it quickly became aggressive when it noticed her attempting to crawl away.
Design
The Brambleboar is a large pig with large plants growing out of its back. Multiple tusks fill the Brambleboar's mouth, with two larger upfacing ones near the front of the mouth and two growing through its snout resembling those of the Babirusa, a species of wild swine. Four large branches grow out of its head resembling horns, two at the top of its skull and two on at the back of the lower jaw. More branches grow out of the Brambleboar's back in two layers, smaller leafed ones sporadically spaced across the back making up the lower layer and much larger leafless ones make up the top layer.
History
"Axis Mundi"
After Cate Randa regained consciousness from falling into Axis Mundi from a portal in the ruined Kazakhstan nuclear power plant, she encountered the Brambleboar. The monster briefly investigated her, standing close enough to snort air into her face, but seemingly lost interest and began wandering around the area. When it circled back around, Cate attempted to crawl away, but the Brambleboar noticed and became agitated by her movement. It charged at Cate until Keiko Randa shot it in the face with an arrow, forcing the monster to retreat.
Abilities
Weaknesses
The Brambleboar is not very durable compared to other Titans, as it was injured and scared off by an arrow fired near eye by Keiko Randa.
