The Skar King (スカーキング is a simian Sukā Kingu)Titan[3][1] who appeared as one of the antagonists in the 2024 Legendary Pictures film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, along with Shimo.[8]
Name
The Skar King's name was revealed through a post by the official Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Instagram account on November 29, 2023.[9] Product descriptions for Playmates' Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire toyline frequently dropped the "the" before his name.[10]
Origins
To be added.
Development
The Skar King was inspired by the villainous railroad conductor Shack from the 1973 film Emperor of the North Pole.[1]
Design
The Skar King's appearance somewhat resembles Kong's, but with proportions similar to a chimpanzee and red fur similar to that of an orangutan. He has a lanky build, with long arms and legs. Reddish fur covers the majority of his body with the exception of his face, his scalp, and his extremities. He possesses bioluminescent light blue eyes, red war paint on his face, and a scar above his right eye. He wears the Whipslash a weapon that appears to be made from an enormous vertebrae column and a jawbone over his left shoulder, like a sash.

Abilities
Whipslash
The Skar King possess a giant whip called the Whipslash,[11] which is made from the spine of a Titan[5] and ends with a glowing, light blue crystal. He wields it with great skill, using it to block Kong's axe and later tearing the top off a building to throw at Kong.

- Crystal
The Skar King can use the crystal at the end of the Whipslash to command Shimo by pointing it towards his enemies. This process appears to inflict a significant amount of psychogenic pain on Shimo until she obeys the command given to her, as she was seen slamming her head against the ground when he used the crystal to command her to attack Kong. This crystal also doubles as a sharp weapon, as it lacerated Kong's hand. However, upon its destruction Shimo was freed from his control. The exact way that the crystal hurts Shimo is unknown.
Physical Capabilities
To be added.
Agility
The Skar King is incredibly agile, able to leap great distances, and even dodge a swing of Kong's axe and follow up with an immediate counterattack in the same move. He was also able to perform a somersault to dodge around Kong and reposition himself, as well as being capable of dodging Godzilla's atomic breath.
Intelligence
Much like Kong, the Skar King is intelligent enough to wield weapons, notably his Whipslash, which he uses very effectively in combat. He had his subjects scout and is able to command entire army of Great Apes effectively. He used Suko as hostage knowing Kong was attached to the smaller ape.
Durability
The Skar King is capable of surviving a hit from Godzilla's atomic breath with only slight burns on his fur, and lived through being completely frozen for several seconds before succumbing to the cold.
