The Killing Bottle (殺人液 is a type of assassination device which appears in the eponymous satsujin eki, lit. "murder liquid")1967 Toho film The Killing Bottle. Devised by Ken Hayata of the assassination syndicate ZZZ, Killing Bottles are loaded with foam which expands to 3,000 times its initial size when exposed to air, and hardens after three minutes to crush its victim to death. After an hour, the foam completely evaporates, leaving behind only the body of its victim. ZZZ attempted to use Killing Bottles to assassinate the Prime Minister of Buddhabal.
Name
The name "Killing Bottle" nor anything resembling it is ever uttered in the Japanese version of The Killing Bottle. In fact, the receptacles which contain the expanding foam are not bottles at all, but closer to a tube (チューブ, as the ISP Far East Bureau chief once describes them. The Buddhabalese police chief, meanwhile, refers to the foam itself as "murder liquid" chūbu) (殺人液. The Killing Bottle name originates with Toho's international sales materials for the film, even being applied as the film's export title despite not being the focus. It is possible that one or both of the English dubs recorded for the film included this name, though neither are currently accessible. satsujin eki)
