King Kong in the Microcosmos #2 is a comic book by Editorial América S.A. It was published circa 1979.
Plot
Kong kills Martin and swats the rifle from Tom's hands as Kalimba fails to shoot him. The commotion is witnessed by Voltan, Fara, and fellow crewman Jarum, who are revealed to be tiny in comparison to Kong and the humans. Determined to pull Kong away from the expeditioners, Voltan uses a flaregun-like device to create a loud explosion in the sky. Just then, the military convoy arrives on the scene and, seeing Tom and Julie fleeing from the spaceship, believes the aliens are attacking them. The commanding officer, Colonel Jensen, orders a tank to open fire on the craft; the aliens recognize the tank as a primitive weapon and use a wrist-mounted "Neutralizer" to disable its gun. As Jensen radios his superior for advice, the aliens return to their ship and teleport it to a safer part of the rainforest. Realizing that Earth's technology is inferior to their own, Fara wonders whether their journey was in vain, but Voltan assures her that he has an idea. After shrinking their ship with the Molecular Compactor so that it won't be found, the three aliens board a hovercraft called the Neutromobile and set off into the jungle to find Kong.
Meanwhile, Tom, Julie, and Kalimba run into the convoy while driving their jeep. The three recount their experience to Colonel Jensen, who offers to bring them along on their operation. Together they return to the expedition camp, only to find that it has been ransacked. While Tom blames the aliens, Kalimba finds footprints that implicate Kong, but does not tell the others for fear that he will be cursed by the seemingly-supernatural ape. As the aliens close in on Kong's location, Voltan reveals his plan: capture Kong and bring him back to Rangor, where he will be the size of buildings, and set him loose on Ran. Fara likes the idea, but suggests that they also lie about having an army of gorillas to blackmail Supreme Leader Mong into signing a peace treaty. With a helicopter flying over the rainforest in search of the aliens' ship, Kong stalks the expeditioners from the treetops, conflicted as to whether he wants them dead or is attracted to Julie. Unable to spot the tiny ship, the military decides to firebomb the entire jungle out of desperation.
Hours later, the convoy moves in to confirm the ship's destruction. The aliens track Kong to the same area, and find their ship burnt to a crisp. They decide to have the still-orbiting mothership send down a backup ship on autopilot, and continue with their mission in the meantime. Though initially turned away by a lieutenant, Colonel Jensen allows Tom, Julie, and Kalimba to help look for the destroyed ship. Upon locating the tiny wreck, the colonel reports it to his superior and waits for technicians from a space center to arrive and confirm its authenticity. Tom, Julie, and Kalimba break away from the group to chat and build a fire, all the while being stalked by Kong. The ape's stealth is foiled when he is attacked by a boa constrictor, which he wrestles to the ground and kills; now out of the cover of the trees, he is spotted by the expeditioners. Tom fires a shot at Kong, but misses and scares him away. At the same time, the technicians inspect the aliens' ship and confirm its composition to be an unknown metal. As paramedics haul away Martin's body, the soldiers realize that Kong was to blame, but Jensen continues to believe that the aliens were responsible for destroying the camp, bringing further guilt to Kalimba. The scorched ship is hauled away by a pickup truck and the expeditioners decide to leave the convoy, as they must arrange for Martin's transport back to London, but vow that their hunt isn't over.
Elsewhere, the aliens finally confront Kong. After parking the Neutromobile they blast off with jetpack-like Degravitators, net guns in hand. The trio begin covering him in nets but, just as it seems like they will succeed, Jarum becomes distracted by the distant sound of the convoy's engines and is violently crushed in Kong's hands. Down a member, Voltan and Fara retreat to the Neutromobile and Kong strolls away. Before the aliens can make a getaway, they are suddenly grabbed by the tongue of a lizard.
