As an exhausted [[Nyudo]] collapsed on the steps of an old temple, the Tenjoname Yokai who inhabited the area took notice and seized the opportunity to begin licking his head. Nyudo soon awoke and ran away frightened upon seeing the yokai standing over him. When Nyudo returned with [[Kotaro Ushiwaka|Kotaro]] and [[Uragira]] to take on the yokai, they were met with a barrage of spears. The yokai soon jumped down from his perch and engaged Kotaro in melee combat wielding another spear. The two managed to disarm one another but continued their fight barehanded. Eventually, Kotaro knocked the Tenjoname Yokai to the ground and held him there, prompting the yokai to surrender. The Tenjoname Yokai (
Name
The Tenjoname Yokai's name comes from the folklore creature Tenjoname (天井嘗), whose name combines the Japanese words tenjō (天井), meaning "ceiling," and name (嘗め), meaning "lick."
Design
The Tenjoname Yokai's body is completely blue save for his head, which is a beige color. He is completely bald and has a large mouth and tongue.
