Rock bug[4] |
In "The Last Blank Space on the Map", a giant rock bug was the first monster Cap encountered on Skull Island. At first he dismissed it as a large, unusually-shaped rock, then grew suspicious. As it rose up, he was dazzled by the blue and aquamarine geodes in its chest, as well as the sparkling void beyond them. When it growled, however, he realized the creature was an insect and stepped back in alarm. One of Irene's mercenaries came to his rescue with a burst of machine gun fire. With surprising speed, the insect scuttled towards the other man and enveloped him, returning to its rock-like state. Later in the episode, Charlie accidentally picked up a baby rock bug while hiding from the giant trapdoor crabs on a Skull Island beach and threw it in alarm when it revealed itself. Nearby crabs lunged at the insect, but it deftly evaded them and they soon turned their attention to Charlie and Mike, who had been trying to sneak off the beach while it distracted them.
While fighting Kraken in "You'll Never Catch a Monkey That Way", Kong scooped up a curled-up rock bug resting underwater and hurled it at his enemy. Though exposed to the creature's light, Kraken intercepted it with a red tentacle at the last moment, shattering its shell in a bright flash and sending it falling back into the sea.
Aloe turtle |
In "The Last Blank Space on the Map", shortly after Cap met botanist Irene, they came across a slumbering aloe turtle, easily mistaken for a pile of rocks. She identified the plants growing on its back just before it awakened, glancing briefly at the humans at it walked off. Amazed to the point of tears, Cap remarked that the creature was both a plant and an animal. In "Terms of Endearment", Irene used a leaf from the turtle she and her mercenaries had found on the ground in an attempt to treat the Kraken poison wracking Mike.

Dog |
| ||
Croc |
In "What's Up, Croc?", Charlie, Mike, and one of Irene's mercenaries ran afoul of the Croc while running from Dog. It took the mercenary, who was standing in a river, by surprise, devouring him before he could fire a shot. Mike and Charlie froze in place as it approached the shore, then broke for the river. It gave chase, but remained on land, swiping at them repeatedly as the strong current carried them along. Charlie realized its tactics were the result of an approaching waterfall, but the duo was unable to swim to shore before they plummeted off it. As the crocodile watched them from a rock atop the waterfall and disappeared from sight, they cheered, believing it had given up, only for it to gracefully dive down and resume its pursuit. Just before it could reach them, however, Kong snatched it out of the water and ate it in a single bite.
| ||
Grass cat |
In "What's Up, Croc?", Cap, Irene, and a few of her mercenaries were traveling through long orange grass when they heard something rustling nearby. They readied their weapons, only to be surprised when the harmless-looking grass cat stepped into a clearing before them. The creature regarded them, meowed, and continued on its way. In the extended flashback in "You're Not a King, You're Just a Stupid Animal", the giant red hawk caught a grass cat and deposited it in the temple where Kong resided. Kong quickly grabbed the grass cat and ate it.

Giant lemurs |
Godzilla Dominion | Godzilla recalled encountering two giant lemurs in Earth's distant past. The giant lemurs are large Lemuridae-like monsters that resemble ring-tailed lemurs with large spikes running down their backs. They also have scorpion-like stingers at the end of their tails.

Murderfish |
When Dr. Ishiro Serizawa destroyed Godzilla's temple with a nuclear weapon to revive the monster, he also opened up a passage to the Hollow Earth. When Godzilla visited the temple's ruins, a swarm of aquatic creatures hailing from those depths surrounded him, acting as one. He roasted dozens with his atomic breath, but countless more arrived, culminating in the creatures' leader—their "genitor"—attacking him. After he easily killed it by tearing out its spine, its connection with the swarm was severed, and they descended to feed on its carcass. Godzilla promptly incinerated them all. The creatures are large fish monsters that resemble prehistoric fish, but with blue bodies. Instead of teeth, they have two pairs of sharp bony plates that form a beak-like structure, and they have white eyes.
Murderfish genitor |
This Hollow Earth predator took Godzilla by surprise, sinking its teeth into his neck, but he easily tore its spine out, killing it. With the genitor's connection to its swarm severed, they descended to feed on its carcass. Godzilla promptly incinerated them all. The creatures' genitor is a large fish monster that resembles a Dunkleosteus, but with a rough blue body, pectoral fins that possess red undersides with three fingers, a dorsal fin that is made up of red ribbon-like flesh, and pelvic fins that are long and thin and also have the same red ribbon-like flesh. Its eyes are red, instead of teeth it has two pairs of sharp bony plates that form a beak-like structure, and it has a tail fin that also has the same red ribbon-like flesh surrounding it.

Various dead monsters |
Before his battle with Tiamat, Godzilla swims past the remains of several dead monsters.
| ||
The Rival |
Long ago, when Godzilla was much younger and weaker, he was driven out of his lair by a member of Kong's species. Eventually, the serpentine Titan Tiamat invaded the lair and fought and killed this aging Kong. A much older and more experienced Godzilla returned to reclaim his lair in 2021, driving out Tiamat and finding the Kong's skull left behind.
The narration in Godzilla Dominion merely refers to this monster as "The Rival", which was also its name in the script.[12]
Camazotz |
Kingdom Kong |
| |
Spirit Tiger |
| ||
Hell swarm |
The Hell swarm are large bat-like monsters with rough brown skin, fur on the back of their necks, small heads with sharp teeth, spikes running down their backs, large, somewhat shredded wings that possess orange membranes, small eyes that appear to be the same color as their bodies, and long spiky tails. |

Giant snake |
Kong: Skull Island - The Official Movie Novelization | After Kong attacked the helicopters escorting the 1973 Landsat expedition to Skull Island and downed the entire group, ex-Special Air Service tracker James Conrad attempted to get to high ground in order to get a better look at the surrounding topography. While climbing, he touched what looked like a vine, but turned out to be a 60-foot-long snake which tried to eat him. The giant serpent possessed a head as large as that of a full-grown human's, and fangs the length of a man's finger. Though it nearly constricted him to death, Conrad was able to kill it by stabbing it in the head with a knife.
Giant wasp |
During their expedition through the island, Conrad's party encountered a carnivorous plant with several dead animals inside its maw, including a wasp the size of Weaver's hand.
Carnivorous plant |
After Kong downed all of the choppers carrying the members of the Landsat and Monarch expedition to Skull Island, James Conrad's party encountered a carnivorous plant with several dead animals inside, including "a wasp the size of Weaver’s hand." The carnivorous plant's digestive juices were said to be extremely acidic.
Iwi painting creatures |
The creatures Kong defends Skull Island from are more diverse than just the Skullcrawlers. The Iwi paintings also depict "giant reptilian beasts, one with three heads. A crocodile fifty feet long. Snake-like monsters, slinking from holes in the ground and snapping towards the sun. Web-footed creatures, spikes along their backs spearing bloodied human shapes, diving into the ocean surrounding the island."
Squid-like creature |
A squid-like creature attacked the Grey Fox, trying to drag Warrant Officer Reg Slivko into the water. Hank Marlow threw the boat into reverse and injured it with the propeller, but it soon returned, attacking Slivko again. Lin San freed him with Marlow's katana. Once the creature had enough purchase on the boat, it raised itself out of the water, only for James Conrad to shoot out one of its eyes. After San cut off another tentacle, it retreated.
The creature's tentacles are described as "a dozen feet long with fine webbed fins and elongated heads ending with small, suckered mouths." They lack suckers, and are instead "heavily ridged with muscle."
